Spring is finally here! Time to stretch those legs and shake off your wool sweater. Not just the flowers are blooming this spring… so is your STYLE. Our apparel / fashion consultants have been watching the spring trends for 2016 since last year… and are ready to bring runway looks to our clients’ closets.

STYLE Consultant Group personal shoppers are loving these trends for a stylish spring in your step.

1) Off the shoulder

Off the shoulder looks are everywhere this season! Our fashion stylists are obsessed with a high neckline and cut outs on the shoulders. This is a very new design that has transitioned from runway to retail. And since the weather is starting to warm up… baring the shoulders is a very flirty look. This turtleneck cut out shoulder dress is the perfect transition from winter to spring. With still some cold nights during the next few months, a more modest length dress with longer sleeves balances the look of baring your shoulders.

2) 1990s

The allure of the 90s is alive and popular for fashion this spring. Just as the 70s made a comeback last year with jumpsuits and velvet… trends have jumped ahead two decades and are making the 90s chic again – for SPRING 2016. Graphic stripes, ruffles, and mini backpacks have all made their way to the runways… as well as to the stylish women of Charlotte. STYLE Consultant Group says that the easiest trend to pick up on this season from the 90s is the skater dress. This classic look skater dress by Ted Baker is a favorite of our personal shoppers. You can also go from day to night with just the change of a jacket. Depending on where you’re headed, our stylists suggest throwing on a denim jacket for day or a cute blazer for evening – both found at EXPRESS at SouthPark Mall in Charlotte.

3) Vibrant Colors

Also a trend from the 90s is the bold and vibrant colors. I.E., the bright red blazer mentioned above. With that being said, pastels are sharing some stylish space this spring. Color has hit the runway for 2016 in several ways – from color blocking to bright patchwork to bright, solid colored pieces. This doesn’t mean you need an entire outfit of neon! STYLE personal shoppers love this ruffled romper found at Nordstrom. It has all of the trendy elements we’ve been talking about – cut out shoulders, ruffles, and color!

While it’s important to have fun and wear colors, don’t let the colors wear you! What we mean by this… if you are opting for bright bright, we suggest muting it down with a neutral – black, navy, or white.
